Dedicated to Rance
Rance has a new site at Mindsay HERE

In other Rance news, Scary German Guy has a Rance poem: 10/30/04 post

UPDATE:
Apparently, Rance is back in full gear again. And interest in him is resurging.

Check out Lora's blog: Red Raspberry / mindsay

Also there is Captain Hoof's blog at Mindsay: HERE

I am just surprised that if that person really IS Captain Hoof that he isn't making political statements. Is Captain Hoof a man? Maybe a woman?

UPDATE #2:

I'd like to thank KJ4ever for giving me information on Stat Counter. It's free. For Tripod users, I'd recommend the HTML version instead of the Java or Flash, because otherwise Tripod will go haywire. Believe me! I know!!

It seems like a lot of people are accessing my page, but 90% of these visitors are here for under 5 seconds at a time. I am embarrassed to admit this, because that means they take one look at me & scram. Also, it could mean someone is reloading the counter. It really isn't me. I promise. I am more interested in unique hits. Stat Counter will give you a break down. I thought I'd share with you some of the places my visitors are from. Just keep in mind, some or most of them stay here for less than 5 seconds :-\

If you are from another country, say hi. I promise I won't bite.

I don't know what is going on, but it sure makes things interesting.

Just when I was beginning to lose interest, rance (or somebody!) decides to heat things up. Well, I think it's cool. I like rance's disney contest. But tell me princess, wasn't it you that asked everyone what Disney character they would be? Are you the new rance!?!?

Well, I don't honestly think you are, but that would be cool.

This AM Rance (or should I say the AS) denied any connection to "Captain Hoof" or "Rance" at Mindsay. Oh well, who are you going to believe? (I think I will go check them out anyway...like who isn't going to fall into that trap!)

Actually it was flyrchld that asked what Disney character we would be and why. Maybe it's her, she kicks ass, and she pays for movies. I'll have to ask her.

I just got a question, feel free to ignore it as I have YET to receive a reply from ANYONE (snif).
So how much easier is it to set up at Mindsay, or blogspot or whatever? I'm thinking about a new setup and everyone else seems to have two or three blogs up everywhere else.
And I miss the Mustard, too.

It's not a question of easy. It's a question of how accesible you want your blog. I find Tripod is easiest, if we're talking about easy.

I signed up with Mindsay, because you have to be signed up to read some blogs. And you can tell who has visited your site. they alert you when you have new messages. Mindsay is easiest in keeping track of everything.

I registered at blogspot to communicate with blogspot users, not to start a blog.

I see merging my blogs in the near future. But there is a problem. i'm set up both places. i don't want to move. we'll see what happens.

Hi! I'm Matt and I came across your site while surfing BlogExplosion. You said to say hi, so I am! I'm from Virginia... not too exciting here though!

Another BE surfer here. Hey, don't feel too awful about that "less than 5 seconds" business with Stat Counter. I've been getting similar reports (like, 80% of visitors are under 5 seconds!) But, per SC's site, if you don't have the counter set up properly on *all* your pages, that's all you're ever going to see -- visitors there for under 5 seconds. Now if I can just figure out how to get the counter active on all pages, then maybe my bruised ego can reclaim some dignity...

I have an invisible counter via StatCounter on a blog I keep at another host. It was, and is, baffling to me why it could generate any readers at all but then I read around also. A reader from a distant country has been stopping by and I do wonder what draws that same person by so frequently.

I asked Mindsay, and though StatCounter will not work there (at least not when I was trying to insert it) they are working on a form of the program we will be able to use should anyone wish to use it. They will probably announce it but if not, someone will.

Bet that's me in your list up there, too.
